Our First General Meeting we’ll be held Tuesday, February 12th, at 6 pm in the Governors Room in the Union.

Our new members will be inducted and we’ll be talking about officer elections, upcoming events this semester and long-term ODE projects.

We’ll be taking official photographs for our new website. You can also have our photographer take a professional headshot of you for LinkedIn.

All members are highly encourage to attend in order to hear about our future plans and meet the inductees. Unlike previous induction dinners, this year’s will focus on networking amongst members and will be relatively short.

This week, we will have a table in BRB and the new Liberal Arts building for those interested in joining. Come ask questions, find out about opportunities within ODE, and learn more about our projects for this semester (including the stock market competition and our new research journal!). Our tabling schedule is as follows:

Tuesday, Jan. 22nd: 11am-2pm (Ground floor of Liberal Arts Building)
Wednesday, Jan. 23rd: 10am-2pm (BRB)
Thursday, Jan. 24th: 11am-2pm (BRB)

Our breakfast info session will take place from 9-12 in BRB 1.118 this Friday, Jan. 25th.

Our first ever BBQ will be this Friday at 2 pm in Eastwoods Park (directly east of RLM/engineering area).

Our 4th General Meeting will double as the Fall 2012 Economics Honors Symposium!

Our December graduates will be presenting their senior theses! Refreshments and cookies will be provided.

We are also holding elections for the Secretary position as well as introducing our new Corporate Liaison.

If you are interested in writing a thesis, doing a senior project, or just curious to know what your fellow UT economists are up to, make your way to BRB 1.118 next Tuesday, Nov. 27th, 5 pm!

This event is open to the general public!

Our next general meeting will be this upcoming Tuesday, November 13th, 6 pm, in SAC 2.120. The directors of the Texas Microfinance Group will be speaking about their experiences working with micro loans in Texas and abroad.

The second general meeting will take place on Wednesday, October 24th at 6pm in the Student Activities Center Room 1.106. Speakers will include MSc in Finance and MPA representatives. Dinner will be provided.

After the meeting, we will head to the Texas Union Underground for bowling at around 7:15pm.

Mateo Clarke, a UT alum and former president of ODE, will talk about working at GLG and the interview procedures.
